- A Reminder About Art Room Attire: Smocks are provided as needed. However, accidents happen and even though most of the art materials we use are washable it might be a good idea to dress for the mess.
- Students do not need to bring any materials, but donations of any type of wipes and other supplies are always appreciated.
- Please let Ms. W know right away about allergic reactions and health changes so alternative supplies can be used
- Please ask your artist about their artwork and what their ideas are, what story are they trying to tell, what they liked about the artwork, or what inspired them?
- Please reach out anytime! Here are ways we can keep in touch:

The artists at Bridgewater have art class once a week for about an hour. The structure of our program follows the National Art Education Association and Minnesota State Standards with themes surrounding the areas of create, present, respond, and connect. The program strives to not only develop artistic ways of thinking and problem solving, but also to create personal works of art that tell our stories and allow us to express our feelings.Common questions:

Ms. W Here's some of my summer Adventures:Northfield Library Stairs:Check out our Photo Booth with Bob!!During our Distance Learning time last year my brother gifted me little Bob Ross to use in my videos. The 2019-2020 will sure be one for the record books! I never thought I'd be bringing the art room home with me or turn into a Youtuber! It's been a while since my last update so here's what we have been up top in and outside of the BW art room! Earth Art with Third grade:Art shares and Art room happenings:STEAM: Architecture with third grade:It's a Jungle in the Gallery for 2nd Grade: Henri RousseauSecond grade artists created three-dimensional landscapes of jungles where they demonstrated an understanding of space with foreground, middle ground, and background inspired by the jungle landscapes of Henri Rousseau!
-Henri Rousseau was a French painter who painted in the Naïve or Primitive manner. He was a toll collector. He was self-taught and ridiculed during his lifetime by critics, but after his death he came to be recognized as a self-taught genius whose works are of high artistic quality. Well, fun fact. Rousseau is the most known of the paintings depicting jungles. But, he never saw any, he never traveled outside France! His inspiration came from illustrations in children’s books and the botanical gardens in Paris. By Zuzanna Stanska https://www.dailyartmagazine.com/fantastic-jungles-henri-rousseau/ Don't forget about the Specialist teachers like me! I really look forward to talking with loved ones at conference nights! I have a couple of scheduled conferences where I will be out of my room. Please leave a note if I missed you and I will circle back as soon as I can! Please stop in if you can and tell me more about your artist!!
Also, be sure to visit our art gallery! We just changed it over from a cave to a shoe store!!! |
